    <description>Only airline to offer non-stop scheduled flights from Alberta to Asia.
 CALGARY February 29, 2012 &amp;ndash; Air Canada announced today that its Calgary to Tokyo Narita non-stop flights will operate year-round beginning this winter.

&quot;This announcement shows the continuous investment Air Canada is making in the Calgary market which is consistent with the Airport Authority&#39;s plans to constantly improve air service from the region we serve. &amp;nbsp;It also gives us the distinction of being one of only three airports in Canada to service both Asia and Europe, year round, on a scheduled basis consolidating Calgary&#39;s position as a major passenger and cargo hub,&quot; said&amp;nbsp;Stephan Poirier, Chief Commercial Officer for the Calgary Airport Authority.

Bruce Okabe, President &amp;amp; Chief Executive Officer, Travel Alberta commented, &quot;We are very pleased that Air Canada has decided to expand service from Narita. <title>KLM Increases its Calgary-Amsterdam Service to a Daily Flight</title>
    <link>http://www.calgaryairport.com/News/tabid/91/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/114/language/en-US/KLM-Increases-its-Calgary-Amsterdam-Service-to-a-Daily-Flight.aspx</link>
    <description>PRESS RELEASE
For immediate release

Montr&amp;eacute;al, February 22, 2012 &amp;ndash; KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has announced it will expand its presence on the Calgary-Amsterdam route by offering a daily flight as of June 6, increasing its seat offer by 24 % over the previous summer.

Flights will be operated with an Airbus A 330-200 aircraft offering a total capacity of 243 seats: 213 in Economy Class and 30 in World Business Class.

After a 13-year absence from Alberta, the airline reopened the route on May 3, 2009 amidst the economic crisis. &amp;lsquo;We are pleased with our gradual increase in seat capacity strategy which now allows us to schedule a daily flight this summer. This confirms the destination&amp;rsquo;s potential and enables us to provide even more travel options between Western Canada and Amsterdam and then on to our worldwide network&amp;rsquo;, commented Fabien Pelous, Vice President and General Manager AIR FRANCE KLM Canada.

&amp;ldquo;We are thrilled that KLM will be increasing frequency of their non-stop service to Amsterdam out of YYC,&amp;rdquo; said Stephan Poirier, Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer for The Calgary Airport Authority. &amp;ldquo;Amsterdam is an important hub for business and leisure travelers and offers passengers extensive connections to the globe. KLM&amp;rsquo;s daily service expands our already extensive network of destinations, making YYC the gateway of choice for passengers.&amp;rdquo;
&quot;KLM&amp;rsquo;s decision to increase flights to daily service this summer is great news for Alberta&#39;s tourism industry and for potential visitors from important markets across Europe,&quot; said Jack Hayden, Minister of Tourism, Parks and Recreation. &quot;Added flights reflect the growing popularity of Alberta as a destination of choice for European vacationers. This demonstrates that the partnership between KLM, Travel Alberta, WestJet, Calgary International Airport and industry partners is producing positive results, and helping to expand tourism in Alberta,&quot; he said.

&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;
YYC Named a Top Five North American Airport in Passenger Satisfaction

Calgary, AB - Airports Council International (ACI) has announced that Calgary International Airport (YYC) ranks as one of North America&amp;rsquo;s Top Five Airports in overall passenger satisfaction for 2011 based upon results from the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey.

&amp;ldquo;We are excited to be named as one of North America&amp;rsquo;s best airports in delivering a positive passenger experience,&amp;rdquo; said Garth Atkinson, President and CEO of The Calgary Airport Authority. &amp;ldquo;We have an amazing community of people working at YYC and exceptional programs designed and developed to ensure we continue to reach for new heights in service quality. This award is especially meaningful because it&amp;rsquo;s an award based on reviews from our passengers.&amp;rdquo;

YYC has participated in the ASQ Survey since 2006 and has always maintained an above average rating in its category and consistently ranks as one the best Canadian Airports. YYC&amp;rsquo;s specialty training programs, in addition to the over 21,000 exceptional YYC employees and volunteers who work tirelessly to deliver our world famous western hospitality to travellers, are the backbone of the airport&amp;rsquo;s success. All of these factors contribute to ensuring the Airport is the best part of our passenger&amp;rsquo;s travel experience each and every time they visit.

The ASQ survey is designed for all airports and provides quarterly updated information on their service performance. Over half of the world&#39;s top 100 airports participate in ASQ and over 250,000 passengers are interviewed for the Survey every year.

The Calgary Airport Authority is a not-for-profit, non-share capital corporation incorporated under the Alberta Regional Airports Authorities Act. Since 1992, it has been responsible for the management, maintenance and development of Calgary International Airport and Springbank Airport under long-term lease from the Government of Canada.

    <title>YYC Passenger Traffic Remains Resilient to Turbulence in 2011</title>
    <link>http://www.calgaryairport.com/News/tabid/91/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/119/language/en-US/YYC-Passenger-Traffic-Remains-Resilient-to-Turbulence-in-2011.aspx</link>
    <description>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Calgary, AB - Passenger numbers were once again on the rise, with 12.8 million passengers travelling through YYC in 2011. YYC continues to be a hub of activity, welcoming new non-stop services and more frequencies to the already extensive list of destinations offered at Calgary International Airport. The Airport Development Program also kicked into full gear with construction of the new runway and international/transborder terminal beginning in April 2011.
&amp;ldquo;We had a very busy year. YYC broke ground on the two largest expansion projects in the airport&amp;rsquo;s history, while continuing to renovate and redesign our current building to improve shops, services, security check points and customs facilities, all in response to better serve our passengers and improve their experience at Calgary International Airport,&amp;rdquo; said Garth Atkinson, President &amp;amp; CEO of The Calgary Airport Authority. &amp;ldquo;Despite some challenging global economic factors, our airport community still welcomed new destinations and more service to our current destinations. I&amp;rsquo;m excited about all the changes I&amp;rsquo;m seeing and the changes our passengers are going to see in the future with the completion of our new runway and terminal.&amp;rdquo;
YYC welcomed new routes to our growing passenger network, such as Orange County, California and Hutulco, Mexico and saw more flights to many US, Canada and sun destinations. Travellers now have more airlines and destinations to choose from when flying through YYC.
The choices for retail and food services at YYC also grew in 2011. There are now more than 135 stores and concessions open, including a North American first, with the opening of Bubbles Wine and Tapas Bar. Travellers can now enjoy more places to eat and shop at Calgary International Airport.
 The $2 billion Airport Development Program is on schedule and on budget and includes two major projects, the Runway Development Project and the International Facilities Project. The Program will provide much needed airport capacity, vital to our airport partners&amp;rsquo; growth and development, and will solidify YYC&amp;rsquo;s position as an important economic generator for the city, region, and province. Construction of both projects will ensure YYC&amp;rsquo;s airfield and terminal building meet the current needs and long-term plans of the YYC businesses and airlines.
Watch for more exciting updates and announcements throughout 2012! &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;</description>
