Bring payment to SpacePort on the day of your visit; this allows you to adjust
the payment to account for absences. SpacePort accepts cheques, cash, VISA, or Mastercard
for payment of educational programs. Additionally, there is an ATM machine located
in SpacePort for your added convenience.
Dairy Queen Cones
Our longtime partners at Dairy Queen can offer your class the perfect treat to
cap off your SpacePort experience. We are proud to continue offering a reduced price
on Dairy Queen ice milk cones for your class, conveniently payable as part of your
field trip costs. Dairy Queen is located in the food court immediately outside of
SpacePort.
Timing is everything
We take pride in the flexibility of our programs; this includes arranging start
and end times that best suit your needs. Some teachers want to make sure that their
class has ample time to explore our exhibits, while others have tight schedules
that require us to abbreviate stageshows and workshops. We want to work with you
to make sure that SpacePort is delivering exactly the right kind of program for
your class.
Lunchtime
SpacePort’s location beside the Airport Food Court makes lunchtime easy.
Even if kids have brought their own lunches from home (as is usually the case),
your class is welcome to eat at the Destinations Food Court tables, located right
outside the SpacePort facility.
Advice on Getting the Time and Date You Want
We recommend booking as early as possible, as dates fill up quickly with priority
given to groups that have booked earliest. Especially after holiday break, SpacePort
usually hosts two or more schools per day. Booking your class into SpacePort early
in the year remains the best way to ensure that you get your preferred date and
start time.
Special Needs Learners at SpacePort
SpacePort has ample experience in delivering worthwhile programs to special needs
classes. The success of such field trips, of course, depends on open dialogue with
you, the teachers. When we communicate openly about the interests, abilities, and
special needs of your class, we can make your field trip perfect.
Out of Town and Charter Schools at SpacePort
SpacePort loves to host visitors from out of town schools. School groups from as
far away as Gleichen, Leduc, Red Deer, Lloydminster and Edmonton have experienced
our educational programs. Many of these groups have become annual vistors. We were
honoured when a group from Wachik, Saskatchewan drove to Calgary specifically to
visit SpacePort. Our ability to be flexible in our scheduling and adapt our program
to your needs makes these long trips well worthwhile.
